Grafted

True Vine, draw near Keep me grafted here I walked the dark wood of my making—paths that twist and lie, A pilgrim with a paper map that never named the sky. I built my little Babels out of bright, impressive sound, Then watched them crack like dried-out clay and crumble to the ground. But You—green life in winter—sap beneath the bark, You carry spring inside Your wounds, a candle in the dark. So prune my proud pretending; cut the vines that strangle true, And bind my breathing back to Yours—“apart from Me, you can’t.” Hold me in the Vine—make me living Let Your life be mine—keep it moving Without You, I am smoke and thin air But in You, I am held and healed Word made flesh, speak through me Bread of Life, feed the deep I will abide, I will abide I will abide in You My restless heart keeps reaching—like it’s chasing something lost, Like every door I force will open into borrowed frost. I taste the sea of troubles; I push the same hard stone, And call it “freedom” as it rolls me back to being alone. Then You say, “Remain in Me”—not sprint, not prove, not earn, Just stay where Love is rooted and let the branches learn. Let fruit be slow and honest—peace where I wanted speed, Joy that doesn’t need a stage, and mercy that can bleed. Hold me in the Vine—make me living Let Your life be mine—keep it moving Without You, I am smoke and thin air But in You, I am held and healed Good Shepherd, stay near me Morning Star, steady me I will abide, I will abide I will abide in You Vinedresser, keep Your blade kind— Cut what kills, not what is Christ. Graft me deeper than my habits, deeper than my fear, Till my vows stop sounding like a résumé in prayer. Let my life be not a tower, but a table set with grace; Not a self-made name in lights, but Your Name in my pace. Spirit, take the ink I spill—my margins full of need, And write the living Word in me, line by line, until I read: The Lamb who takes my shame away, The Cornerstone that does not move— The Vine that makes my barren heart A garden for Your love. Hold me in the Vine—make me living Let Your life be mine—keep it moving Without You, I am smoke and thin air But in You, I am held and healed Light of Life, burn through me Prince of Peace, come rule in me I will abide, I will abide I will abide in You In You… in You True Vine, draw near Keep me grafted here

The Gentle Crown

Breath of God, draw near Quiet my heart, be here You come like morning light Soft on my weary life You lift what I can't hold You lead, and I let go Your yoke is kind and near You speak, and I can hear Write Your ways in me Set my feet free Jesus, You are King Simple, sure, and sweet Holy Spirit, lead Keep me at Your feet Make my life a song Make my love complete Jesus, You are King Jesus, You are King I chased the higher ground Found only hollow sound My heart was restless, long Till You became my home Now prune my prideful vine Make me Your living branch Breathe Your life in me Shape Christ in me Jesus, You are King Simple, sure, and sweet Holy Spirit, lead Keep me at Your feet Make my life a song Make my love complete Jesus, You are King Jesus, You are King Spirit of Truth, untie The knots I make inside Spirit of Love, make room In me for mercy's bloom When I am weak, be strong When I am lost, come on Pray through my wordless prayers Light up my hidden fears Jesus, You are King Over all I see Holy Spirit, lead Keep forming Christ in me Make my life a song Make my love complete Jesus, You are King Jesus, You are King Breath of God, stay near Make my whole life clear

The Mystery

Morning finds the small worries again Loose change in the pocket of the mind Patience wears thin in the slow lane Pride flares up over nothing Petty thoughts make petty kingdoms Built from a day that won't remember me And still—You don't step back from the mess You come close, like You're not afraid of it The mystery isn't that You rule the skies It's that You turn Your face to mine What kind of Love is this— That holds the stars and holds my restless hands? What kind of King comes near To share the weight of who I am? I can't outgrow my needing I can't outrun my clay And that's the wonder: You keep coming Grace, not far away Broken in the ordinary ways Half-prayer, half-distraction, half-trying to be strong Wanting to bless, but biting back Wanting to trust, but holding tight And when the narrow way feels steep You don't just point ahead—You walk in it with me You don't demand a spotless heart to start You start with what is here You don't get tired, You don't turn away You keep on calling "come and stay" What kind of Love is this— That holds the stars and holds my restless hands? What kind of King comes near To share the weight of who I am? I can't outgrow my needing I can't outrun my clay And that's the wonder: You keep coming Grace, not far away If You clothe the fields in beauty without asking them to try Then You can dress this restless heart in mercy by and by Not a ladder built from effort Not a medal for the brave Just Your life inside the living And the strength to stay What kind of Love is this— That holds the stars and holds my restless hands? What kind of King comes near To share the weight of who I am? Still forming what is faithful Still patient in the change And that's the wonder: You keep coming And You remain the same

Don't Lose the Light

The night keeps making promises That morning will never come The wind keeps writing stories That the battle's already won But I've seen seeds split open In the coldest kind of ground Heaven has a habit Of turning graves around So when my eyes betray me And fear becomes my sight Don't lose the Light Just because you lost the sun Don't lose your song When the silence has begun Hope is more than what you're seeing Faith is more than what you feel The Shepherd never leaves the valley He walks every hill Don't lose the Light The roots don't fear the winter They know what spring can do The stars don't fight the daylight They simply wait it through Every promise has a season Every tear will find its end The One who held the beginning Will finish what He said The mountain may not move today But mercy's on the way Hold on The dawn is learning your name Hold on His love has never changed Hold on The silence isn't empty Hold on He's closer than you think Hope is growing underneath Where you cannot see Hope is growing underneath Like roots beneath the trees Don't lose the Light Just because you lost the sun Don't lose your song When the silence has begun Hope is more than what you're seeing Faith is more than what you feel The Shepherd never leaves the valley He walks every hill Don't lose the Light Don't lose the Light Hold On Morning is coming Hold on Morning is coming Don't lose the Light

Mercy Seat

I dress up all my weakness In words that sound like "fine" I smile while I'm unraveling Behind my careful lines I try to walk the narrow way With tired, trembling hands And even my best intentions Fall short of where You stand Then You come close—so steady Not scolding, not ashamed You meet me in the rubble And call me by my name You are the Mercy Seat Where my striving can rest Where Your kindness finds me At my worst, at my best You don't ask me to earn it You don't leave when I'm weak Jesus, keep Your mercy on me Teach my heart to breathe I want to bless the one who hurt me But my words come out like stones I want to turn the other cheek But I cling to what I'm owed So soften what is hardened Put peace upon my tongue Turn my clenched fists into open hands Make me like the Son Not my willpower rising Not my courage on display But Your Spirit in my weakness Making a new way You are the Mercy Seat Where my striving can rest Where Your kindness finds me At my worst, at my best You don't ask me to earn it You don't leave when I'm weak Jesus, keep Your mercy on me Teach my heart to breathe When I'm pulled toward the old things When my love is running thin Be the strength I cannot summon Be the life that lives within Bring my wandering back to center Bring my noise back into praise Let my faith be formed in secret By the steady gifts of grace You are the Mercy Seat Where my striving can rest Where Your kindness finds me At my worst, at my best You don't ask me to earn it You don't leave when I'm weak Jesus, keep Your mercy on me Teach my heart to breathe Teach my heart to breathe

Revival

We built our little gods from gold and glow Fed them our hearts and called it hope Promises came with a paper crown But smoke-made kingdoms all fall down Every screen is losing shine Hungry souls are asking why The newest lie grew old so fast But ancient truth was built to last Not every dawn brings light Not every crown is gold The world keeps selling futures But Your truth does not grow old There's a fire on the horizon There's a sound beneath the ground What the liar called a graveyard You are turning inside out Let the old wells overflow Let the dry bones hear the song When the darkness thinks it's winning That's when revival comes Steady as the morning Ancient as the flame Every empire fades away But Jesus stays the same The stone is rolling The dawn is breaking The ground is shaking Revival's waking Wake up, sleeper Lift your eyes Truth is burning Through the night Wake up, church The King is near What looked like silence Was mercy drawing near Revival comes like thunder Revival comes like rain The enemy was laughing But Heaven called our name Revival comes like morning Revival comes like flame The world keeps changing kingdoms But Jesus stays the same There's a fire on the horizon There's a sound beneath the ground What the liar called a graveyard You are turning inside out Let the old wells overflow Let the dry bones hear the song When the darkness thinks it's winning That's when revival comes Revival comes Revival comes When the dark thinks it has won Revival comes
